The Heritage Lottery Fund generously gave us a grant of £20,100 to be matched by us in terms of time and effort. We were cash poor but rich in commitment to the task. The project was called "Tickhill Then, Now and for the Future".
We set ourselves 3 very challenging objectives:-
1 - to preserve important heritage material and make it widely accessible
2 - to engage people in learning about and appreciating their local heritage
3 - to engage people in contributing to their heritage and developing a feeling for its importance for future generations.
Details of the many things we achieved are set out in the attachments below together with a very complimentary article in the BBC's History Magazine - Who do You Thing You Are? - from May 2008.
