I am the child second from the right on the front row. I am sitting next to my best friend Wendy Burton . I used to live at Lindrick house in the 60’s and have very fond memories of my school and home life in Tickhill. I can remember several of the names of children in this photograph but not sure I can put names to faces. I do remember Mrs Rice and Mrs Stewardson ( teachers) and Mrs Hill the playgroup supervisor who would hand out one sheet os Izal toilet paper to be used in the dingy outside toilet at the end of the yard. Until the move to the new school we used to have to walk in pairs down to the old public library ( also where I attended the Tufty Club Road Safety Club ) for lunch which was cooked in a local secondary school and delivered by van in stainless tins. The meals were served onto plastic plates the colour of sweetheart sweets and I would always try to swap places in the queue to get my favourite colour . | |
