I saw this photo in Mark Perry's book The South Irish Horse in the Great War. I believe my grandfather's brother is the soldier seated on the far left in the white shirt. His name was Matthew Farrell, and he died at the Battle of the Somme on 12 July 1916. He was from Ballaghlea, near Ballygar in County Galway.
