We have discussed with Estfeld School the way in which they make great use of local history to bring to life their teaching of History. Some of the content of this site has been designed with schools in mind and we hope to feature some of their activities and the work they produce.

We are compiling a picture of education and schools in Tickhill from the 16th Century to the early part of the 20th century, the latter from memories of people who went through their schooling in those days - a little different from today's experience as the notes, documents and photographs show. And also: What is it like to be a young person in Tickhill today? Could we record it in some way – with words, with photographs – so that in 50 or 100 years’ time we can fascinate people as they look back to 2006/2007. Can you contribute something?
