In this interview with Geoff Stables made in 2011 by John
Neall, Geoff remembers his childhood in Tickhill. Born in Wong
Lane in 1951 (when it was a lane surrounded by farm fields) he
went to the local school and remembers his teachers such as Mrs
Speight, Mrs Rice, Miss Amy Haddock, "Big Miss Haddock", Miss
Tattersall, Mrs Stewardson, Miss Bolam and Mr Hilton.
He remembers too singing in St Mary's choir and a troubling
encounter with "God's Golden Handle" !
Geoff also talks about the generations of the Stables family
who have lived in Tickhill.
